CPA-LAW SOCIETY

CPA Law Society meets each month in Ventura . Providing  continuing legal education, this section of the bar hosts attorneys and accountants and topics presented are relevant to both. A separate membership fee is required and the group was formed in 1996.

COURT TOUR PROGRAM

Provides administrative oversight for the CTP,  which manages 30+ docents and one staff person, providing 1200 school-age youth with tours of both county courthouses during the school year.

Ventura County Paralegal Association (VCPA)

VALA meets the third Tuesday of each month for a business dinner and educational component. They produce a monthly newsletter and the dues are $35 annually. Additionally, they host a silent auction/wine tasting event each year raising money for the Legal Services Fund and assist with several bar activities.

LEGAL SECRETARIES (VCLSA)

Dinner meetings the second Wednesday of each month, usually with a speaker; monthly newsletter. Annual dues $25. The VCLSA conducts the Annual "Boss of the Year" and "Secretary of the Year" dinners and assists the bar association in a variety of ways.

PUBLIC EDUCATION

The Public Education committee was formed to fight back the U.S. Chamber of Commerce attack on trial lawyers. The committee is currently developing a ready response team, which is prepared to deal with attacks made against the legal profession, the Speaker's Bureau, and Law Talk.
